Learn to make a tulle skirt for spring-time frolics! This easy project can be done without any sewing and you will create a skirt of your choice of colors, length, and size to take home. Makes a great costume or dress up piece, and a funky and festive skirt to wear to celebrate the return of flowers and warm weather.
FABRIC and Boston Makers have teamed up to present this program as a part of Boston Design Week.
Learn the basics of indigo dyeing by exploring a variety of techniques. Traditional shibori, resist, and pole-dyeing techniques will be included with hands-on help. You will have a choice of items to purchase to dye for $5-$20. Participants may also bring a prewashed item to dye. We recommend 100% cotton or silk fabrics for best results. No previous experience necessary. Come have fun, get messy, explore and see what you can do!
2 sessions – 10-1 or 2-5
Note: Indigo stains WILL. NOT. COME. OUT. Please dress accordingly!
Participants of Sew Your Own Upcycled Clothing hosted by Boston Makers on April 8th will be sent a link to purchase tickets at a $10 discount.
Please note: The entrance to this event faces Malden Street.

A meetup group for cosplayers of any experience level! Bring something you’re working on, get suggestions of how to solve problems, where to get materials, and feedback. We have sewing machines, fabric, buttons, zippers, various other fasteners, hot glue, patterns, and more resources that may help in constructing your cosplay that you can use for free during the meetup.
FABRIC has a Silhouette CAMEO 3 machine. Getting started can be a bit of a learning curve, so come for this FREE class and get a cheatsheet, hands-on practice, and useful tips & tricks from FABRIC staff.
The CAMEO can cut paper, vinyl, fabric, and heat transfer material! So if you’re quilting, sewing, scrapbooking, or making a detailed cosplay, this machine will make your life so much easier.
Come play with tie dye and other dyeing techniques at Fiber Arts Boston Resource and Innovation Center’s annual free tie dye day! We provide the dyes, rubber bands, gloves, and instruction.
