Come play and experiment with altering existing garments in this open-ended workshop. Bring in a garment or two that you want to modify, and get help designing and implementing alterations. You can hem, repair, add pockets, interesting buttons, combine 2 or more articles of clothing, or transform your clothes in other ways. You will create an independent project with assistance from the instructor in brainstorming ideas and learning sewing techniques.
We will provide sewing machines, thread, assorted buttons, notions, elastic, and some fabric. You are encouraged to bring additional embellishments such as lace, trim, or ribbon.
All levels of sewing experience are welcome.
Our studio will be open until 5pm for participants to continue their projects after the end of the class time.
Parking is available on the left side of the building. If lot is filling up please leave a few spaces open for Shepherd and Maudsleigh Studio members and look for parking on Watertown St. (One block away and no meters or ticketing.)
