Sewing Basics: Pillowcase with French Seams

Novice and advanced sewers alike will enjoy cutting and assembling a one-of-a-kind pillowcase. This class will take you step by step through the process of designing, pinning, and seaming, including the use of the elegant and professional looking French seam.  By the end of the session you will have one completed pillow case, the skill and know-how to make a second at home, and a list of friends asking for one of their own. Novelty fabrics encouraged! 2 hours

In this class you will use a straight stitch to make a fully encased seam using the French seam technique and burrito method.


Use the quilting cotton FABRIC has available or bring your own.

Main Fabric; 1 yard
Cuff Fabric; 1/3 yard
Trim Fabric; 1/4 yard (optional)


Entrance and parking on the left side of the building. If lot is filling up please leave a few spaces open for Shepherd and Maudsleigh Studio members and look for parking on Watertown St. (One block away and no meters or ticketing.)
